My Father was a spy, sons conclude with regret

Who: Robert and Michael Rosengerg

What: Their parents are being put to death.

When: Friday, June 19, 1953

Where:Sing Sing

Why:They were activist parents

How: In the 1990s, the government released decrypted wartime Soviet cables that further implicated their father. Then their uncle, David Greenglass, who was an Army machinist at Los Alamos, N.M., where the atomic bomb was made, and was recruited by Julius Rosenberg as a spy, admitted that he fabricated the most damning testimony against their mother, but insisted that Julius was guilty of the formal charge, conspiracy to commit espionage.

Identify the lead-
They were the most famous orphans of the cold war, only 6 and 10 years old in 1953 when their parents were executed at Sing Sing for delivering atomic-bomb secrets to the Soviet Union. Then they were whisked from an unwanted limelight to urban anonymity and eventually to suburban obscurity.

Re-write the lead using your own words.
Michael and Robert parents were executed at Sing Sing for delivering a bomb to the soviet Union in 1953. This made them the most famous orphans of the cold war for this.

The photo is a details photo. I think this photo fits with details is because of the close up on the building's details.
Light

This photo is on lights. I think it fits the description because of how one side is getting hit with light on the building, and then the others side has shadows.
Patterns

This photo is about patterns. I think this photo fits with the description by maximizing the repeated pattern of the building off the water.

Angles and shapes

This photo is about angles and shapes. I think this photo fits with the description by not having a rectangular shape, and right angels.

Surroundings

This photo is about surroundings. I think it fits the description by standing out of it's surroundings , and being cropped.

c.     What is his hope by taking these types of photos? Hoping that people will look at his photo's, and encourage them to help out the animal's in africa.
d.
“African wildlife has never looked so regal and mysterious as in Brandt’s grave photographs. His elephants appear as weighty as the pyramids. His rhinos look more ancient than carbon. His apes know something we don’t. Given the multitude of human disasters in Africa, is it an indulgence to lose yourself in pictures that carry no hint of the wars and famines outside the frame? Not when the pictures are such powerful reminders that Africa is also a magnificent—and endangered—treasure house of animal life.”
4. Find one of his photos that you really like and post it on your blog.

Warm Up/Assignment

1. When i look at this photo i think of, Burning people inside more like a family, I also think it's really sad looking at photos like these cause its like your seeing a murder happen, except in this case you cant do anything about it. I think the photographer who took this photo had good angles, and viewpoints.

When i look at this photo, it makes me sad to think that, their is a tsunami happening in Japan, and it's being witnessed and what we have we take for granted, i think this is a perfect example of not complaining with what we have. Its sad to see there town getting torn apart. I think the photographer had really good angles, and he caught some things that were unexpected like the car that was dragged in the big wave!. :/

I think this photo, is extra sad, cause when i see it i think of all the things, that she is crying about.....like all the things she lost, maybe a son, a daughter, a mother, who knows. I think it's sad......And the photographer caught a perfect shot of her emotion. i think he had a good photo, and her background in the photo, is a perfect shot of the reason why she is crying.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Name of photographer - Alyssa Schukars

General focus of portfolio (photoj, sports, stories, etc.)- On the photos and the emotion of the photos the things happening in the photos, also the equality of them, and how everything was set.

List three problems that the judges note with the portfolio - How she didnt stay with one story she had a one story and the photos where alright but not great, thats what they are looking for is great. also that some of the photos where from a far distance how she wasnt getting up close and personal and getting the emotion they where looking for. And one more thing was there wasnt alot of optimism and that kind of bothered them.

List two things the judges like- a photo of a guy in Hatti cleaning up the streets with a good background. also of another photo where a young lady feel over the hurdles and just beside her you can see her opponents feet still running and finishing while she is there on the floor.

What is your overall impression? What did you like or not like?
i liked the clarity of the photos the photographer wasnt bad but she could have been better she could have picked a better story instead of Bulimia its sort of old, she needs something with more emotion and she needs to stop over thinking the photos and just go with the flow

2.What did the judges note as strengths as they were critiquing it?

they noted how up close he was how he didnt use photo shop as much he was at good angles he caught the expressions, not mainly set ups mainly just creative and in the moment shots.

What do you see as strengths? Do you see any weaknesses?
i think that he is very creative and his camera is amazing he just seems to be in the right place at the right time, his photos arnt just eye catching but you can also see the emotion in some of there faces or body expressions, i dont really see any faults.

3.
Briefly describe the process the judges went through in deciding the winner.they maily looked at if there where blanks, if the story line followed and if the photos where strong.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Describe one photo that you agree with the judges on. Explain why you and the judges do or do not like it.I think the first photo, was really good, they also thought it was good, they said it had really good framing, and the framing of the photo was really good.!

2. Describe one photo that you do NOT agree with the judges on. Explain why you think the judges are wrong.
Well the last ones that they liked that i did not is not something im in too and to take a shot from the bottom is wierd it would it bee better if it was face to face not bottom.

Touching People

1. What do you think about this project and photo essay? I honestly think its really weird and pretty sure that a lot of those people were really uncomfortable.

2. What would you do if someone approached you with a camera and asked you to participate in a photo shoot and then asked you to touch a stranger? I would probably not do it cause i don't like to get out my comfort zone and i don't like to be a bother much.

3. Think of an unusual photo shoot similar to this one that you think would be fun to go and shoot. A person walking really close behind someone else and i would shoot it from a 3rd person point of view.

4. Finally, tell me what you thought of the photography, did the photographer think about the rules of photography that you know about? What types of photos did he take? Most of his photos either had a simplistic background.

Cool Advertising Blog.

I like this one best,! because i think blackberry's are cool:), Js, Just saying. And fishes are amazing i think it's even cooler! that im a pices, thats my zodiac sign and it makes not only the photo look cooler but it makes the phone look cooler too!

This wouldnt influence me to buy a at&t phone, because im not really a at&t fan, also why would a cool picture make me wanna buy a phone that makes it look cooler, but in reality it's retarded, might not work as well. I love the picture though, it's pretty cool that they do advertising like that.

Types of Magazing Covers

1. Early Magazine Covers- Almost always a painting, They tended to be ethical, Religous, High morals, Some can also be drawings.

2. The Poster Cover- One big picture, no borders, The subject is really clear, Text does not distract from the photo at all, the picture has to be really really good, or really recognizable to catch your attention.
Disadvantages: ZERO entry points, the cover doesnt really say much, If they dont put a great photo not much magazines will sell, RISKY.

3. Pictures Marries to Type- The words help the photo, the words dont interfear with your picture, The words are realated to the photo, You can see the photo better, You DO NOT loose the subject of the photo, It's not as distracting. The WORDS go with the PHOTO.
Disadvantages: You dont know what else is inside, There arent very intrey points into the magazine.

4. In the Forest of Words- Means there is tons of text on the picture. Lot's of color's. Different fonts, Different sizes. Everywhere, (Forest of words)-every where you look theres a word, Something that catches your eye, Lot's of entry points to catch your attention.
Disadvantages: Gives you a headach, Too much to look at, Let the subject be notified, It cover's your photo's,

I like the, two people, how they are formed in the pictures, and how they are showing im guessing love for one another, it's very unique, and it is most definetly something that will fit in the Rolling Stones magizine. I really like about this photo, the uniqueness, and the differenties, also the formal backround in the back, im thinking it's like sand, and it brings the two subjects out alot. Which is really good, the view of the photo is great i couldnt see it any other way myself.

Portrait and self portrait.

Tips:

Think about your motivation and emotions: Blankly staring at the camera rarely gets good results. Be silly, don’t be afraid to over-act. The worst that can happen is that you fill up your memory card with useless photos; but you might also find yourself with a proper gold-nugget of a self portrait.

If you’ve got a remote trigger, that’s usually a better and more controllable than trying to use the self-timer.'

Use a tripod. Seriously. While it’s possible to get good photos while you’re hanging on to your camera at arms-length, it’s a lot easier if you’ve got the freedom to move around a bit.

2nd
I like this photo, because the guy is taking pictures, of flowers and the cool part is your already know he's taking photos of flowers, because thats all that's surrounding him. It's really pretty and the pink flowers are amazing looking, they are beautiful plants.

I like this photo, because the moon and the clouds, and the darky dimeness, are so cool. Especially because the two girls are just chillin there, in dark clothes so basiclly they are going with the theme of the picture pretty much they look like the heart of the picture, because with out them in the photo, the photo would look plain.

I will shoot, Melanie Garcia. Outside by the bikes towards the theater, and i will catch her, maybe interacting with the bikes in someway, having fun, or like kneeling by the bikes, or on top of the bike getting ready to go home with her backpack on her shoulder. I think it will be a good photo.

We are back:D

This one was one of my favorite photo's of the year! because i freaking love elephants and i think this is a beautiful.

I love this one and i love the pictures Imogen Cunningham took, i think I'm more interested in her back round of photography, and the reason why she likes it. She wanted to study the anatomy of plants, and this was her way of studying them.

Same with this photo it's one of Imogen Cunningham, and i really do like the way she just takes her pictures. And the way she has her way of studying plants.

The best song of 2010 to me was "Hey Brittney", by Forever The Sickest Kids, I went to go see them at Emo's and i remember that it was just the most funnest amazing time that Ive had, and i would always listen to that song.

I think, the best movie of 2010, for the late 2010 would be "Get Him To The Greek"
I think that movie is absolutely hilarious and i liked it, for the end of 2010.

The biggest story news of 2010 for me, was the BP (I think) The oil spill that just went all around the gulf, and started killing animals, i think that was pretty big news, because. That's sad that all of the animals were dying because of oil spill, IN there natural habitat. Irrelevant for things to happen like that.

The most important person in 2010 would be my nephew Zachary, and my Father:) I love them, will never stop loving them, and they helped me get through the year, makes me happy!:D

The biggest entertainment of 2010 i would say the show "Jersey Shore" it got really big, and they the people have become like famous, like Ronnie, he's doing commercial ads for his workout program, and Pauly D is starting his own DJ business, Snooki is just famous. I think that was the biggest hit of 2010.

One thing that happened on my Holiday in 2010 that i will not forget is when me and my dad and his wife, went to walmart at like 2 in the morning, to go get diapers for my sisters baby. And i went to wonder off in the electronic section, he found me there, and said "hey what are you looking at". I said "laptops, mom said she would be getting me one hopefully for Christmas". "You want one? ." "of course!!" so he got me a laptop for Christmas, when Ive been asking for like 5 years!

One of my resolutions for 2011 is, learn something new. Do something different. Make Varsity Softball. Get out the house more. :)

I am looking forward to a lot of things, like changing my room around (because we just moved and my room looks plain) Get different types of friends. Me and my madre loosing weight. A lot of different types of things that will make my 2011 different.
