Warm Up/Assignment

1. When i look at this photo i think of, Burning people inside more like a family, I also think it's really sad looking at photos like these cause its like your seeing a murder happen, except in this case you cant do anything about it. I think the photographer who took this photo had good angles, and viewpoints.

When i look at this photo, it makes me sad to think that, their is a tsunami happening in Japan, and it's being witnessed and what we have we take for granted, i think this is a perfect example of not complaining with what we have. Its sad to see there town getting torn apart. I think the photographer had really good angles, and he caught some things that were unexpected like the car that was dragged in the big wave!. :/

I think this photo, is extra sad, cause when i see it i think of all the things, that she is crying about.....like all the things she lost, maybe a son, a daughter, a mother, who knows. I think it's sad......And the photographer caught a perfect shot of her emotion. i think he had a good photo, and her background in the photo, is a perfect shot of the reason why she is crying.

1. Name of photographer - Alyssa Schukars

General focus of portfolio (photoj, sports, stories, etc.)- On the photos and the emotion of the photos the things happening in the photos, also the equality of them, and how everything was set.

List three problems that the judges note with the portfolio - How she didnt stay with one story she had a one story and the photos where alright but not great, thats what they are looking for is great. also that some of the photos where from a far distance how she wasnt getting up close and personal and getting the emotion they where looking for. And one more thing was there wasnt alot of optimism and that kind of bothered them.

List two things the judges like- a photo of a guy in Hatti cleaning up the streets with a good background. also of another photo where a young lady feel over the hurdles and just beside her you can see her opponents feet still running and finishing while she is there on the floor.

What is your overall impression? What did you like or not like?
i liked the clarity of the photos the photographer wasnt bad but she could have been better she could have picked a better story instead of Bulimia its sort of old, she needs something with more emotion and she needs to stop over thinking the photos and just go with the flow

2.What did the judges note as strengths as they were critiquing it?

they noted how up close he was how he didnt use photo shop as much he was at good angles he caught the expressions, not mainly set ups mainly just creative and in the moment shots.

What do you see as strengths? Do you see any weaknesses?
i think that he is very creative and his camera is amazing he just seems to be in the right place at the right time, his photos arnt just eye catching but you can also see the emotion in some of there faces or body expressions, i dont really see any faults.
